Create A Website Without Errors Or Glitches
Unless you are a hermit who is isolated and living like a caveman in the past century, of course you have a little knowledge about the Internet. You might be involved several ways, such as owning your own website, being a member of a social network, chatting or a blog of what is going on in your life everyday. If anyone with non-technical knowledge can learn to do this, then you will have a greater advantage over them, if you already know how to create a website.
Knowing how to create a website is no longer the province of the technical or "geeky". You don't need to know a lot of design theory, high end computer knowledge or lots of website design theory. But you do need to be able to stick with reading a couple of books, willing to work hard and able to learn new tricks to web design.
Be sure to catalog the needs and specialties of your website. The best way to do this is to have as many people as possible, especially those who are not technically inclined. They will be able see issues or design flaws you might miss. While it will take time, they will save you valuable time later troubleshooting problems.
Buy a primer on web design and read it thoroughly. Then practice small tasks using an open source web design software package. This will not require any additional investment. After gaining confidence, you may choose to buy server space and create a test website. This is akin to creating a sandbox version of any software.
Never underestimate the value of a mentor. If you have a friend or colleague with portal development experience, they can give you valuable guidance when you create a website. Tapping the expertise of others ensures that you will quickly overcome the challenges that they've encountered in the past.
During the design phase of the project, makes sure that you pay attention to details and don't just gloss over them. Look carefully at the design templates you're using and make any small changes that they might need to fit the content located on the pages of your site. This will make sure that there are no problems when visitors try to navigate between pages in your site.
Almost everyone has an online presence these days. This can mean anything from having personal, professional and journal web pages to being on a social networking page. People can have web sites for their businesses, their personal interests or almost anything else. The best way to take the most advantage of this is to know how to create a website. Many innovations in online living make it easier and faster for those who are less technically inclined to do this, especially by Internet portals, but knowing how to do it all yourself is always better.
